About Keen-Agers

Keen-Agers is an assisted living facility found in 1976 by Father Wilbert Staudenmiaer, and located in Wakefield Michigan.

Keen-Agers has not always been an independent living facility. The building was built in the 1950s and originally started out as a hospital that was called Devine Infant. Father Wilbert was the first person to start the adult foster care in 1976.

Keen-Agers has 41 spacious private apartments. Amenities include: 3 meals a day, all utility expenses, cable television, internet, and a full laundry service. Additional medication management or personal assistance can also be requested if needed.

Keen-Agers is nonprofit organization that is primarily funded through the renting of our apartments. We have a total of six staff members, who are often accompanied by volunteers.

Wakefield is a small town located in the western corner of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We live in the heart of small-town hospitality and that transfers into our facility, and the care of our residents.
